International validity of IELTS test:
IELTS, or International English Language Testing System, is an English language test that has international validity. This exam is a standard to measure the English language knowledge of people who want to study, work, or immigrate to English-speaking countries. The IELTS exam is held in collaboration with the University of Cambridge, the British Consulate, and IDP Australia. This exam follows the highest and most reliable international standards to measure the English language level of candidates and evaluates the four skills of Writing, Reading, Listening, and Speaking. Many universities in different countries, such as Canada, England, Australia, New Zealand, and America, recognize the IELTS exam. Also, in order to immigrate to Canada, Australia, and New Zealand, it is necessary to have an IELTS certificate. This exam is held in more than 270 exam centers located in 110 different countries around the world.
Step 1: Choose the right IELTS test.
There are two types of IELTS tests: academic and general. Choosing the type of test depends on your needs, whether you plan to work, study, or immigrate to an English-speaking country. To study at higher levels in an English-speaking country, you must take the IELTS Academic test. On the other hand, for a job or immigration to Australia, New Zealand, Canada, or England, you must take the general IELTS test.
Step 2: Familiarize yourself with the test.
After determining the appropriate type of IELTS test, you should familiarize yourself with it, from the format of the test to its different sections and the types of expected questions. After knowing the format of the test and the types of questions, prepare yourself for the test day by taking practice tests. The IELTS test consists of four parts: Speaking, Reading, Listening, and Writing.
Step 3: Know the types of questions.
Both the academic and general IELTS tests consist of four sections: Listening, Reading, Writing and Speaking. The types of questions in each part of the test are different. Familiarize yourself with the types of common questions in each part of the test and know the specific time for each part. Downloading and practicing free tests is one of the easiest methods for all kinds of test questions.
Step 4: Know the grouping of scores.
The result of IELTS is reported in the form of overall scores, from 0 to 9. Each overall score corresponds to a level of English language skills. You will receive an overall score as well as a separate score for each part of the test. Scores are reported in whole or half numbers, e.g., 7.0, 8.5. It is better to know the meaning and concept of each score to recognize your level and also get to know the scoring criteria for each of the test skills.
Step 5: Mock tests and analytical corrections.
Before participating in the main exam, you need to use the Cambridge test books to determine your level of preparation for the exam. At each stage, after completing each book (four full tests), take a mock test. In the meantime, from the class, use analytical writing and speaking correction groups and groups to evaluate yourself more accurately. There are eighteen Cambridge test books; the last eight books are more similar to the original exam in terms of question style.
Step 6: Study and set your goals.
Studying for the IELTS test is very important, and try to use English more in the time leading up to the test. In addition, setting goals will also help speed up your progress in preparing for the exam.
